Nepal to play Asia Cup Qualifiers 2018 starting from August 29 to September 6 in Malaysia: Asian Cricket Council (ACC). The 14th edition of the Asia Cup is being held in the UAE for the third time, after the 1984 and 1995 tournaments. Currently, Nepal is at Sri Lanka busy for the preparation of Asia Cup Qualifiers 2018. Nepal will play three practice matches on 22 Aug vs Sri Lanka Army Club, 24 Aug vs Bloomfield Cricket Club, and on 26 Aug vs Colts Cricket Club before flying to Malaysia. In the first practice match Nepal defeated Sri Lanka Army Club where as next two matches are yet to be played. Nepal are among the most favorite to top the group stage having won last 20/25 matches against all 5 opponents in 50 over matches. Won: 20, Draw: 1, Abandoned: 1, Lost: 3 (2 vs Oman, 1 vs UAE). The winner of the Qualifiers will join defending champions India and Pakistan in Group A of the Asia Cup. Group B includes Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. Thereafter, the top two teams from each of the groups will progress to the Super Four section, from where the top two teams will then play in the final.
