Shakti Gauchan, the left-arm spinner, made his debut for Nepal in 2002 ACC Trophy against Oman. His contribution to Nepali Cricket team is just countless. Along with his retirement decision (Dec 15, 2018) 17 years long relation with the Nepali Cricket comes to and end. Here we have listed some of his career's exceptional stats as below-:

1. First Nepali player to score 1000 runs Shakti Gauchan is the first player from the national team to score 1,000 runs. He initially started his career as an opening batsman.

2. First Nepali Cricketer to take a Hat-trick. 
Shakti Gauchan is the only Nepali Cricketer to take hat-tick in international cricket against Denmark in the 2012 ICC World Twenty20 Qualifiers held in UAE. In the same tournament Gauchan managed to take a total of 16 wickets and was also the second leading wicket-taker in the  tournament.

After Shakti's impressive performance in the tournament he was called by the Indian Premier League outfits Rajasthan Royals. During the training session he showed his bowling skill and also took the wicket of Indian cricket maestro Rahul Dravid. All in all, he couldn't impressed the IPL side.

3. Best economy rate in an innings

The left-arm orthodox spinner's figures of 10-8-2-3 is the best economical bowling spell ever in limited over encounters. In 2012 ICC World Cricket League Division Four, he set up Nepal's convincing victory over Malaysia, with a new record of 10-8-2-3 i.e 0.20 economy.

4. World's best economy rate in Twenty20 cricket format 
Shakti Gauchan is ranked in the first for the best career economy rate of 5.55 in Twenty20 matches. This is calculated based on the minimum of 500 balls bowled. This record includes 605 runs in 654 balls. See the list

5. Second Nepalese cricketer to score an international century
Shakti Gauchan is the second Nepalese cricketer to score an international century. He accomplished his first century against Italy in ICC World Cup Qualifying Series in 2005. He managed to score unbeaten 106 off 103 balls.

6. Third Nepali player to take 100 wicket
He is the third Nepali cricketer to take 100 wickets after Mehboob Alam and Basanta Regmi.
