Previously, Nepal lost both home and away matches played against Kuwait. In the away match Nepal lost by 7-0 and 1-0 in the home leg played in Bhutan. Nepal defeating Chinese Taipei 2-0, away from home however the poor performance continues where Nepal went down 5-0 against Australia and 3-0 against Jordan in the away matches. As of now, Nepal stands in the fourth position in the table which means Nepal cannot win the group, however may still advance as group runner-up.
